Belt Park Bridge Dedication
Join us as we celebrate the Belt Park Bridge Dedication and recognize the students of the Hermiston High School Metals Shop for their work in bringing a new bridge to Belt Park.
The existing bridge, originally built as an Eagle Scout project, will be decommissioned after more than a decade of service and replaced with a new metal bridge crafted by local high school students.
This project recognizes both the lasting contribution of the original Eagle Scout bridge and the craftsmanship of local students who helped create the next chapter for one of Belt Park’s most recognizable features.

About the Project
The current wooden bridge has served Belt Park for more than 10 years, exceeding its expected lifecycle. The new bridge was crafted by students from the Hermiston High School Metals Shop, creating a durable replacement while continuing the bridge’s role as a popular and meaningful feature within the park.
Community Recognition
Hermiston Parks & Recreation appreciates Abe Wright and the donors to the original Eagle Scout project that brought this bridge feature to Belt Park and is proud to partner with the Hermiston High School Metals Shop to continue improving public spaces through local talent, student craftsmanship, and community partnership.
