Horizon Park

Built in 2023 in the Legacy Development, this 1 acre neighborhood park serves the residents in the northeastern part of Hermiston. Future development and improvements of the park are planned.

Construction is actively underway at Horizon Park as improvements continue to take shape. March 19th marked a key milestone with the successful pouring of concrete for the new half-court basketball court, which will provide the first recreational amenity for park users of all ages.

Looking ahead, work will continue later this spring with the construction of a new playground on the east side of the park. This addition is designed to expand play opportunities and enhance the overall park experience for families in the community.

We appreciate the public’s patience during construction and look forward to delivering these new amenities for the community to enjoy.

Tree Planting Partnership

In 2024, the City of Hermiston partnered with AWS and the Arbor Day Foundation to enhance Horizon Park through the planting of six elm trees. While newly planted, these trees represent a long-term investment in the park—providing future shade, improved aesthetics, and environmental benefits for years to come.
