Melon Fest Brings Slice of Summer Downtown on August 22

HERMISTON, Oregon — Melon Fest returns to downtown Hermiston on Saturday, August 22, with a day full of kids’ activities, vendors, live music, a costume contest, bathtub races, and of course, free slices of Hermiston watermelon.
The outdoor event is 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Festival Street and Main Street. Learn more here.
The Bathtub Races start at noon, with teams of three competing — two to push, one to steer. Tubs are provided, but team uniforms and slogans are encouraged. Registration is open on the Parks and Recreation website under “Special Events” or here.
