Notice of public hearing Planning Commission July 10, 2024 7:00PM Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment & Annexation Reyes 4N2812C Tax Lot 308 - 1088 E Newport Ave

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Hermiston Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the 10th day of July, 2024, at or after 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall, 180 N.E. 2nd Street, Hermiston, Oregon on the proposed conversion to amend the City’s comprehensive plan map from Future Residential to Medium Density Residential (M) for 2.01 acres with a corresponding change in the County zoning designation from FU-10 to the city zoning designation of Medium-High Density Residential (R-3). The public hearing will also consider the proposed annexation to the City of Hermiston and withdrawal from the Umatilla County Library District the following described property:

East 320 feet of the following described tract of land:

Beginning at the Southwest corner of Section 12, Township 4 North, Range 28, East of the Willamette Meridian, Umatilla County, Oregon; thence North along the West line of said Section 12, a distance of 355.62 feet to a point; thence South 89034’ East a distance of 30 feet to the East line of 10th Street in the City of Hermiston; thence North along the East line of said 10th Street a distance of 675.22 feet to the true point of beginning for this description; thence continuing North along the East line of said 10th Street a distance of 272.63 feet to a point; thence South 89036’ East a distance of 603.28 feet to a point; thence South a distance of 272.63 feet to a point; thence North 89036’ West a distance of 603.30 feet to the point of beginning;

Also including the 30’ wide right of way for SE 11th St adjacent to the east boundary of the above-described property.

 Also including the 60’ wide right of way for E Tamarack Ave adjacent to the south boundary of the above-described property.

The applicants, Mayra & Felipe Reyes, own the property. The property is located at the southwest corner of E Newport Ave & SE 11th St. The property is described as 4N2812C Tax Lot 308 and addressed as 1088 E Newport Ave.  The location of the property is within the City’s Urban Growth Boundary and the proposed changes will allow the extension of city utilities and services to the property.
