Charter Review Committee
The City Council approved formation of the Ad-Hoc Charter Review Committee on July 28, 2025 to review the current City Charter and may make recommended changes, amendments, or determine that no changes are necessary. In addition to a full review, the Council has asked the committee to provide specific recommendations on:
- Geographic representation on the Council,
- Ward boundary adjustments,
- The process for adopting ordinances,
- The hiring and supervision of the city attorney,
- The selection method for the municipal court judge, and
- The necessity of a city manager residency requirement
Applicants for the seven-member committee must:
- Live inside of city limits,
- Be registered to vote,
- Commit to met unit a final recommendation to the Council is reached (within six to nine months of appointment), and
- Apply by the August 26th deadline through the application process.
- Applicants who have a special interest in serving as the Committee Chair are encouraged to state this in their application.

Meetings
This committee will meet when needed at City Hall and operate in accordance with Oregon Public Meetings Law and is expected to engage the public through at least one advertised hearing and additional outreach efforts.
