Municipal Service Worker

The City of Hermiston is currently accepting applications for the position of Municipal Service Worker I in our Street Department.  Hourly wage is $21.64 – 26.32/hr.  The City of Hermiston offers a robust benefit package including Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and PERS Retirement.

This position performs duties related to the maintenance, operation, and repair of streets and grounds. Works in a training capacity to perform repair, maintenance, and cleaning of sidewalks, curbs, gutter/storm drains, road signs, asphalt, and grounds.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency and some experience and training in general maintenance/construction work, OR any satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position; valid Oregon driver’s license and proof of an acceptable driving record are required. Class B CDL with tanker and airbrakes endorsement is desired; or ability to obtain 18 months of hire.  May require work zone safety and flagging, confined space, forklift operation, and lock out tag out certifications.
