Services Coordinator - Lead Chaplain

Umatilla County Fire District 1, Hermiston Police Department, Hermiston School District, and Umatilla Police Department are seeking a detail-oriented services coordinator/lead chaplain to perform a wide range of duties supporting local first responders and community members.
Core Responsibilities
• Provide a Ministry of Presence by spending quality time “embedded” with first responders via ride-along and station visits to build trust and rapport.
• Offer Confidential Counseling with providing a safe, non-judgmental listening ear for personnel, their families, and the public.
• Conduct Incident Interventions assist in facilitating Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) debriefings following major events.
• Perform Ceremonial Duties as necessary including funerals, banquets, and ceremonies.
• Deploy to Emergency Scenes as requested including active calls, severe accidents, and natural disasters, all under the direction of the on-scene incident commander.
• Deliver Death Notifications accompanying first responders and providing victim assistance acting as a liaison to coordinate appropriate resources.
Ideal Candidate Profile (preferred)
• Ecclesiastical endorsement/ordination from a recognized entity and degrees or professional certificates in theology, chaplaincy, or counseling are highly preferred.
• Specialized training or certification in CISM, psychological first aid, basic emergency response protocols and experience as a chaplain for first responders is desired. • Ability to manage on-call rotation providing 24/7/365 emergency response availability from the chaplain program.
• Must successfully clear a rigorous background check.
Salary Information
Salary for this part-time position is $5,000/month or $60,000 year.
