EOTEC - Team Member (Maintenance and Event)
Are you a hands-on, dependable team player who takes pride in being a jack-of-all-trades? The City of Hermiston is looking for a part-time staff member to help keep our facilities at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center running smoothly and ready for a wide range of events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and is comfortable handling everything from event setup to basic repairs and grounds keeping. Hours will vary depending on Event Center needs, not to exceed 20 hours per week, hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications, pay range $14.05 - 19.85/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and take down tables, chairs, fencing, and temporary stages for events.
Keep restrooms, public areas, walkways, and service corridors clean and safe.
Perform general landscaping duties such as weeding, irrigation, and beautification.
Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances.
Conduct daily cleaning, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
Identify safety concerns and report issues for repair.
Qualifications:
Physically able to perform labor-intensive tasks in various weather conditions.
General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance.
Self-motivated, reliable, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
Work Environment:
This is an all-around support role that includes both indoor and outdoor work, with flexibility to assist during event schedules—including evenings and weekends.
