Hermiston Seeks Community Input on Future of Downtown
The City of Hermiston is asking residents and business owners to share their ideas for the future of Downtown Hermiston through a new community survey.
The City is partnering with Downtown Strategies to develop a Five-Year Action Plan focused on practical, achievable steps that will strengthen Downtown Hermiston and create a more vibrant city center and community hub.
Rather than developing a broad list of everything the community could pursue, the planning process will focus on identifying small-scale strategies and priorities that can make a noticeable impact and build momentum over the next five years.
An anonymous community survey is an important part of that process. It asks participants about their experiences downtown, including shopping and dining, businesses and restaurants, parking and transportation, safety, housing, events and public spaces. Participants can also identify the improvements they believe would have the greatest impact downtown.
Downtown Strategies will also host a Downtown Stakeholders Input Session on November 4, with more details to follow. Feedback gathered through the survey and stakeholder input session will help Downtown Strategies and the City better understand what the community values about downtown, where residents and downtown businesses see opportunities for improvement, and which efforts should be prioritized in the Five-Year Action Plan.
