Public Survey Gauges Broadband Internet Access in Hermiston

Hermiston Broadband Checkup

Responses will guide city's broadband investment for residents, businesses

Over the coming months, the City of Hermiston will partner with Strategic Networks Group to explore options for connecting high-capacity digital infrastructure throughout city facilities.

This infrastructure could be leveraged to also connect residents, businesses, and institutions, while assisting internet service providers in extending services to currently underserved areas. Through this effort, the city is exploring ways to encourage healthy competition from internet service providers, leading to improved services levels and lower costs for residents and businesses.

The City of Hermiston is asking residents and business owners to participate in the process through online research questionnaires called the Hermiston eHousehold Checkup and the Hermiston eBusiness Checkup. Residents with an active email address with the City will receive an email invitation to participate on January 26. If you don’t have a registered email on file with the city you can use the link below to participate.

Your input will provide essential information, ensuring the digital infrastructure we deploy will benefit every citizen and business to help the community overall.

The research will be conducted over a six-week period in January-February 2022. Each questionnaire takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
